TMJ (Temporomandibular Joint)
Each year millions of people suffer from Temporomandibular disorders (TMD). These are disorders of the jaw muscles, temporomandibular joints, and the nerves associated with chronic facial pain. Any problem that prevents the complex system of muscles, bones, and joints from working together in harmony may result in temporomandibular disorder. Dr. Riggin uses a combination of chiropractic adjustments, cranial therapy, and myofascial techniques to address each patient’s individual constellation of symptoms and return them to a pain-free life.
Spinal Disk Derangement
A spinal disk has a soft, jellylike center (nucleus) encased in a tougher, rubbery exterior (annulus). Sometimes called a slipped disk or a ruptured disk, a herniated disk occurs when some of the nucleus pushes out through a tear in the annulus. This can be the cause of chronic low back pain. Many resort surgery or pain medication to manage these conditions. At Delmarva Chiropractic and Wellness Center we employ several gentle techniques to reduce the compressive forces and enhance healing and restore proper motion in the affected spinal segments. Over the years we have helped numerous patients avoid surgery and addictive pain medications.
Most major athletic organizations and Olympic Teams employ chiropractors to keep their athletes healthy and optimize performance. You deserve the same! Dr. Riggin is accredited by the National Board of Chiropractic Sports Physicians and a Certified Chiropractic Sports Physician. He is proud to be the team chiropractor the Delaware Thunder professional hockey team, but his true passion is working with local amateur and high school athletes. Whatever your sport is he will work to get you back in the game.
